land and sea
daybreak
waves break
you break
away from me

sky and earth
sunrise
opened eyes
time flies
upon rebirth

fine lines
divide space and time
parallel
the divine

soak up the sun

ice plant. brilliant shades of magenta, purple, royal and magnificent. like a beautifully crafted handmade throw blanket, perfectly draped over the knees of mother nature...the seaside bluffs. toes in the warm sand, sun permeating the threads of the dazzling blanket, delivering vitamin d, facilitating the transformation of light into food. the ingredients that wove together to make this natural blanket upon her knees. photosynthesize. photograph. convert to photo-memory. i want to hold this beauty and peace in my heart.

fried pickles + beer, namely "chocolate milk stout" = not so healthy (but oh so good).

tomorrow ~

a power breakfast of poached eggs and wheat toast + a fabulous hike in the mountains of santa barbara = very healthy!

looking forward

i am looking forward to springtime. warmer weather. wildflowers. hikes in lush mountainsides. rain. birds singing. love in the air.

i am looking forward to turning 20. did i say 20? i meant 30. growing up. getting to know myself even better. deepening friendships and family ties. learning, always learning. getting serious? being an adult? yup.

i am looking forward to doing what i am supposed to be doing with my life, my soul. art. music. a creative path. fulfillment. purpose joy.

so. today i will be posting twice due to the fact that i completely failed as a blogger last night. today's first post: animales. (pronounced an-ee-mah-lace). oh my dear shweet little presh love princess! how i miss thee! my poor heart is withering away from sorrow as you reside 20 miles south of me in another house... i miss you the most when i go to bed...how you would always curl up on my chest and drift off into dreams with me. :(

BUT. i know that you are happy where you are living and that you are well cared for. you have sunlight streaming in through windows where ever you turn and you sure love that!

i loved my experience as a student at dvc, so i decided to look for work there after i graduated college. lo and behold, there was an opening and i filled it! i've ended up in the admissions and records office...a very high volume and fast paced environment. i love what i do-- i absolutely love helping students. the best part is interacting with them at the service window or in the enrollment lab. the experience definitely has some quirks and interesting moments (ex: "hi. i need help. this form says name. do i put my name here??"), but overall i enjoy this line of work. here is a layout in tribute: "working 9 to 5* sucks." (but it's not so bad if you like what you do!) *i am 8 to 6 anyway ;-)

oh. and it doesn't hurt to have a dwight bobble head at my desk either. question. question. question.
